Recruiter tips for Business Analyst CVs

  • Business analyst CVs should show the change you enabled, not the documents you wrote. 'Delivered a migration impacting 4.2M customers' beats 'wrote the BRD'.
  • Name your methods: BCS, Agile, BABOK, SAFe. They are filters at large organisations.
  • Show stakeholder range. Working with ops, tech, compliance, and the board in one role is a strong seniority signal.
  • Quantify the outcome of your analysis, savings, risk reduced, time saved, not the artefacts produced.

Common CV mistakes for Business Analysts

  • ✗Listing deliverables (BRD, FRD, UAT) without the business result
  • ✗No mention of tools or methods
  • ✗Vague stakeholder claims ('worked with stakeholders') without scope or seniority
