Useful Links for Job Seekers
Job boards, government support, childcare, disability, mental health, and free resources to help you on your job search.
Job hunting is rarely just about sending CVs. At least, it never was for me. It runs alongside real life: sorting childcare, managing a health condition, dealing with the anxiety of it all, or trying to work out what you're actually entitled to while you're between roles. I've put the links below together because they're the ones I kept reaching for, or pointing friends to, again and again. They're grouped by what they help with, so you can go straight to the bit that matters to you.
None of these are affiliate links and I don't get paid for listing them. They're here because they're the services career advisers and job seekers actually rely on. RoleReady will help you track applications, write cover letters, and prep for interviews; these are the external services that fill the gaps I can't, like your legal rights, mental health support, or in-work benefits.
How to use this page
- • Skim the category that matches your situation, you do not need to read every link.
- • If you are between roles, start with Government & Support for benefits and free training.
- • If you are working parents, the Childcare section covers free hours and tax-free childcare.
- • If job search anxiety is the issue, the Mental Health section has free helplines and self-help.
